Day 6: Rest Day, Cheektowaga, NY

Nau mai

Yesterday we stopped off in the town of Cheektowaga to rest and recuperate.

Vanilla Stallion was parked in the vicinity of the Home2 Suites by Hilton Buffalo Airport/Galleria Mall when I awoke yesterday. The hotel stands on the edge of a large multiplex with temptations such as the Burlington department store with its always discounted clothing, and Powersports with an impressive range of hunting boats, fishing boats, and leisure boats laid out on the footpath in front of the store.

I had breakfast on the opposite side of the multiplex at a restaurant called Panera Bread, ordering a Strawberry Poppyseed Chicken Salad and sitting outside in the warm, pleasant weather to enjoy it with a cup of their light roast coffee.

After finishing my meal I went for a long walk, crossing west over Interstate 90 and witnessing the magnificent cloverleaf interchange with Walden Avenue. Eventually I reached another multiplex, this one home to a Petstop, a Sketchers Outlet, and a Target, the latter store being the aim of my trip. I purchased some essentials for the bus: a pillow, detergent, disinfectant spray, dish brush, and plastic plates and cups to eat and drink from.

Here are some shots from my journey, things I saw in and around the cloverleaf interchange between I90 and Walden.

Here are the new plates and cups!

I spent the afternoon working in the hotel room and enjoying the sunny view.

Here is a sneak preview of the arrangement I have been working on.

We went to Gabrielโ€™s Gate for dinner and ate a huge quantity of their famous Buffalo Wings, approaching this task with the same energy and focus that we apply to any task that needs a thorough completing.
