Day 11: Austin TX

Welcome

Yesterday we drove into Austin City and played a show at Empire Control Room and Garage.

My day began with us pulling up outside the venue in central Austin where in predictable fashion I was greeted by an intrusive notification on my phone. I was feeling too jaded to spend any more of my life trying to hunt down this mystery device so I focused my energies into walking to my breakfast spot Snooze, an AM Eatery.

I ordered OMG! French Toast which was brioche stuffed with mascarpone, topped with vanilla cream, caramel, strawberries, and toasted coconut.

After breakfast we completed an efficient load-in and soundcheck. A new shipment of t shirts had arrived and we spent a good part of the afternoon counting and sorting our stock.

Austin were a great crowd and showed their appreciation at every opportunity. Jake took a few shots of the show and you can really see the size of this garage.

Today I have a real treat for you in the form of this ‘Faucet of the day’. The Sloan EFX250.000 Basys Mid Active Infrared Sensor Bathroom Faucet System has three independent receptacles that can be installed any way that suits the user. The foamer dispenses 4ml of your chosen soap into the palm of your hand at a firing rate of up to 7 rounds per minute. The tap has a quick response and feels good to use, dispensing water through 16 1.2mm holes at a flow rate of 0.5 GPM. The hand drier is a real treat and uses laser targeting technology to assist with accurate delivery and minimal air waste.

I’ll leave you at another stop on our lengthy tour of the bus. Pictured below is the right-rear wall sconce located in the rear lounge, right in the tail of the bus.
