Day 9: El Paso TX

Welcome

Yesterday was a travel day spent getting from Phoenix, Arizona, to El Paso, Texas. It was Superball Sunday so we cheered our favourite team on from the forward lounge of the bus.

We in the carpark of a Hampton Inn & Suites to a sunny yet cool day and a freshly washed bus. Tristan and I went for a coffee run and after walking through about 2km of carparks we secured the goods and went back to the bus for breakfast.

I had half of a leftover pork pastie with a mustard dipping sauce.

It was nearly superball time so we put on the pregame coverage to watch Mark Wahlberg give his analysis. Robert had parked the bus to make sure that the satellite dish was perfectly aimed and sure enough Mark was coming through crisp and clear.

The game was a nail-biter filled with with running, barging, and passes both complete and incomplete. After a large series of plays it was time for the halftime show and this year’s performances did not disappoint. I tried to embed the youtube video of the performance but the NFL have disabled it so instead I’ve posted a photo to give you the rough idea. And if you want to watch the video here is the link https://youtu.be/gdsUKphmB3Y

Liz stole the limelight for the rest of the evening executing countless challenging meals in Overcooked. Tristan earned my personal limelight however by bringing me a beer and giving Jon a massage.

The tour of the bus continues today and this time we are moving past the cockpit and the primary lounge to take a look at the toilet foot pump, one of the most important pieces of equipment that we ride with.
