Day 3: Chicago - Rest Day
Nau mai
Yesterday we enjoyed a day of recovery from our jet lag and music fatigue.
It was in the comments section of my blog post detailing day 21 of our last tour that username: “goz” left a request for my daily wake-up time. Yesterday my wake-up time was just after 4pm, after fighting a losing battle with my jet lag. While it meant that I didn’t get to experience much of the day it also meant that it saved me a lot of writing time for this blog post.
My breakfast was purchased from the Wholefoods supermarket just a couple of blocks from the hotel. I assembled a quartet of salads inside my takeaway box with such delights as Spinach Feta Orzo Salad, Cabbage Crunch, Roasted Pear, Arugula & Blue Cheese Salad, and Sesame and Cucumber Noodles.
After eating I took a seat at the business centre in my hotel room and did blog writing for an hour.
Then it was dinner time. Gabe had just flown in and survived a flight that featured an hour of horrific turbulence over the southern Pacific Ocean. People were flying out of their seats and grown men were screaming for their lives, was the report we heard. We were thankful to have him with us at the dinner table. All of us enjoyed a delicious meal in the warmth of a cosy Mexican restaurant while outside it rained heavily.
This is the only other photo I took yesterday. Jon shelters under a drum head while Tristan shows off his brand new raincoat.
