Day 27: Manchester

Welcome

Yesterday we left the great capitol of England and headed to the red brick city of Manchester.

My search for a breakfast took me past the Swindon Bus Station and down The Parade, Swindon’s shopping hub. There I resisted the urge to purchase a Cornish pastie and kept walking until I reached Darkroom Espresso where I dined in ordering sourdough with marmalade and a filter coffee.

We departed Swindon with one last go on the magic roundabout and were soon on the M5 and passing by a great number of trailer mounted advertisements.

A little known fact is that all Jury’s Inns are mandated by UK law to double as nuclear blast shelters able to withstand a 20 Megaton blast within 800m.

It was a very busy day and I forgot to take photos until the end of the night. The gig went well though and the crowd at the Academy were relieved and stoked to see us after our many postponements of this show.

The end of the night found us back at a Jury’s Inn, this one with a less flavoured lobby but an equal measure of comfort and familiarity.

(Behind the scenes) normally I would delete a photo like this but I have a word count to fulfill.

Normally venues don’t let you operate the freight elevator but at the end of the night everyone at the venue left so we got to have a go.
