Day 17: Strasburg pt 2

Welcome

Yesterday we had a rest day in Strasburg, Virginia.

It was a beautiful day in our corner of the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott carpark. Liz organised breakfast for everyone which was Eggplant Parmiagiana subs from Castiglia’s Italian Restaurant.

Tristan and I went for a slightly frustrating run due to the shortage of footpaths and abundance of dead ends in the area. Here are a few of the highlights anyway:

The Fort Bowman Road dead-end.

The Skyline Paintball gate.

The double flag house.

The Island Farm Road dead-end.

We are fast running out of days to post bus content so here is some detailed coverage of the cockpit and the driver controls and instruments. Feel free to ask any questions and I can pass them on to Robert.

The driving position.

Driver’s eye view.

Steering wheel with cruise control and cockpit window controls.

Robert sits in a Seats Incorporated Legacy Series full-height suspension seat. Fully reclining, air lumbar, swing-link isolator, dual-density foam along with a class-exclusive EVC cushion support system.

Indicator stalk with windscreen wiper and headlight controls.

Allison six-speed fully automatic transmission.

Brake and accelerator pedals.

Electrical systems control panel. Also water tank and generator gauges.

Screen for reversing camera, cabin and luggage bay locking buttons, passenger side cockpit window control, driver air conditioning controls, driver stereo.

Cruise control enable, reversing beep disable, horn mode, secondary luggage bay locking controller, unknown, driver-side window control, mirror trim knobs.

Auxiliary lighting panel.

Fuel and battery gauges.

Engine temperature gauges.

Motorola CDM1550 LS+ Mobile Two Way Radio.

There hasn’t been a lot for us to see or do in Strasburg but I’ll leave you with a couple of clips from a show we were fortunate enough to watch last night.
