Day 12: Travel day

Welcome

Yesterday we farewelled our great capital city Pōneke Wellington and caught the Interislander Ferry to Picton

My first meal of the day was a bowl of fresh fruit followed by a pair of buttered baguette slices topped with cherry tomatoes.

After breakfast I met the rest of the team at San Fran where we loaded out of the venue and packed the van for our drive. Then it was only a short time before we were at the Interislander terminal being shepherded towards the spacious hold of Kaiarahi.

The crossing was smooth and relaxing and the ship’s crew were even thoughtful enough to screen a cricket game for us.

Our passage through the Marlborough sounds was particularly beautiful; Tristan even saw a pod of Dolphins.

We disembarked in Picton and then spent the next three hours being treated to some of State Highway Six’s luscious landscapes on the way to our Airbnb in Nelson.

Tristan sat alongside me in the front seat and documented a few of the more stunning sceneries as they passed by the window.

We had a great end to a great day with a home cooked pasta meal courtesy of sound engineer and food expert Bob Frisbee.

I was lucky enough to catch up with our Head of Data Jonathan Pearce last night and you wouldn’t believe the figures we’ve been getting from the last few shows. Take a look at this video to find out.
