Day 5: Manchester

Yesterday we traveled from Dublin and played a show at the Albert Hall in Manchester.
We woke at 5am yesterday to catch our flight to Manchester. I'm not going to discuss my breakfast as it was too depressing.
We caught the Picadilly line from Heathrow to the van and backline rental company in central London. Our vehicle is a real beauty; a Mercedes Benz Vito, with a 1598cc turbo diesel and a 6 speed manual transmission.
We made the drive up to Manchester with a few minutes to spare and rushed straight in to sound check. The Albert Hall was built in 1908 and originally used as a Methodist hall. As is apparently the case with many of the rooms we are playing on this tour, it is very large and reverberant which makes the sound checks quite disconcerting. Once the room was filled with people however it sounded great and we had a fantastic show.
Today we drove up to Glasgow, a 3.5 hour drive from Manchester. Breakfast was very simple and consisted of a few blackberries and two mandarins.
